This hardback book in dustjacket contains 182 printed pages, mostly text but there are a number of black and white photographs The author tells the stories of twenty-seven of the most notable British railway disasters which have taken place since 1900, many of which have never been fully described before, including Salisbury, Grantham, Ais Gill, Quintinshill, Bourne End, Harrow, Lewisham, and others. A near fine hardback copy with a bookplate, name and date on the front endpaper and contained in a damaged dustjacket (small piece missing and a number of edge tears)
